Hello and thanks for visiting my site.  My name is Candice and I run CandiRats Rattery.  CandiRats is a rattery located in Sacramento, CA.  I breed fancy rats for pets.  I DO NOT BREED "FEEDER" RATS.  I do breed sweet, friendly, healthy rats.  I enjoy sharing my wonderful ratties with other responsible owners.  I have owned rats since I was about 5 or 6 years old.  My first rat was a little girl named Heidi.  I began to breed rats when I had a hard time finding a breeder in this area.  I drove to Nevada for my first few hairless and decided to breed a litter.  Everything went so well that I continued to breed.  I have met a lot of great people and have expanded my rattery.  Now I breed hairless, rex, velveteen, dumbo, and patchwork.  Some of the colors produced here are black, cinnamon agouti, blue agouti, regular agouti, beige, blue, champagne and fawn.   Burmese, siamese, and himalayans have recently been added.   Some of the markings produced here are hooded, bareback hooded, masked, capped, variegated, self, berkshire, veriberk, irish, and dalmatian.  I specialize in hairless, blues, and fawns.  My bucks and does are my pets and are handled daily.  Their babies are introduced to people at just a few days old.  When they are old enough they are socialized with other people, dogs, and cats.  There is a 14 day health guarantee on every rat bred at CandiRats, please read the adoption agreement.  I do not ship as shipping can be unsafe for the rats. 

Beggining May 2008, we are branching out to include a very small cavy breeding program.  I will begin with breeding a litter of tortishell skinny pigs and furred carriers.  I can't wait.  I may add one more breeding pair later this year.
